About Mellonhead
At Mellonhead we provide AI solutions and education for Customer Experience (CX) teams.
Our founder, Mariena, established Mellonhead as a mission-driven company focused on democratizing technology. We believe that workers and organizations that invest in data and effectively adopt AI will be more competitive. Drawing from Mariena's decade of experience in customer-facing roles, we initially focused on developing and deploying Generative AI solutions and education within CX departments.
Since our launch in January 2024, we've developed an Internal AI Assistant for over 5,000 HumanGood employees. We've also provided our Basics of Generative AI course to thousands through small hands-on workshops and large corporate trainings. We're just starting our journey, and we're excited about what lies ahead.
Our name, "Mellonhead," comes from a nickname Mariena's husband gave her, celebrating her Carnegie Mellon background. As CMU is a leader in AI and Computer Science, we feel this name pays homage to Mariena's alma mater in a quirky and fun way that reflects our company's personality.

About Our Founder and CEO
I'm Mariena Quintanilla, founder and CEO of Mellonhead.
As a tech industry veteran, I bring 20 years of experience leading customer, technology, and product initiatives at old favorites like Yahoo! and Foursquare. I'm a self-proclaimed data nerd, and I've been helping customers get value from Data and AI products in advertising, product development, and analytics for over a decade.
I'm deeply committed to talent development, focusing on programs that promote the advancement of female, black, Latino, and queer engineers. As an engineering leader, I've established training and professional development programs. I've also mentored early-career engineers and US Veterans. I advocate for and have developed apprenticeships and alternative career paths into technology through mentorship and partnerships with organizations such as Pursuit.
I hold a B.S. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University. When I'm not geeking out about advancements in data and AI, I enjoy hiking in the Pacific Northwest and learning a little bit of everything, whether at home in Los Angeles or while traveling the world.
